For the last few years I would spend hours and hours compiling my year end list, doing write-ups, prepping images, embedding songs, etc. While I didn\u2019t hate doing that, it sure was time consuming. Especially the writing part. Which ironically enough is what everyone skips over (are you still reading this?).<\/p>\n
So this year I decided to do something different. No top 20 albums and no write-ups, just one single playlist of some of my favorite songs from the past year. In all honesty, I had way more fun doing this and the end result is something I get to listen to and enjoy.<\/p>\n
In addition to having fun making this playlist, I realized I wasn\u2019t restricted to songs from full-length albums that came out in 2017. There was no reason why I couldn\u2019t include one off\u2019s like KEN mode\u2019s<\/a> track from the Decibel flexi series<\/a>, or the new single from the Bug\/Flowdan<\/a>. If it was a killer song and dropped in 2017, then it was considered for this playlist. Simple as that.<\/p>\n Unlike many of my other Spotify playlists, I actually spent quite a bit of time sequencing and selecting these 31 songs. So don\u2019t be too quick to click on \u201cshuffle\u201d. But hey, who am I to tell you what to do? If you listen to it and like what you hear, then I\u2019m happy. See you in 2018.<\/p>\n
